His Holiness the 43rd Sakya Trizin Gyana Vajra Rinpoche His Holiness the 43rd Sakya Trizin Gyana Vajra Rinpoche His Holiness Khöndung Gyana Vajra Rinpoche has recently been enthroned as the 43rd Sakya Trizin, throne-holder of the Sakya tradition, a role that he will maintain for the next three years. He is His Holiness Sakya Trichen’s younger son. At an early age, Rinpoche joined the Sakya Centre, His Holiness Sakya Trichen’s main monastery, where he undertook his training in the principal rituals and prayers of the Sakya Tradition. After successfully completing the course of studies at Sakya Centre, Rinpoche joined Sakya College and pursued its curriculum of Higher Philosophical Studies under the guidance of the late Venerable Khenpo Migmar Tsering. Like his brother, Rinpoche has received numerous teachings and has been invited to teach at many centres around the world. He speaks fluent English and has also been a regular visitor to Sakya Centre in Bristol since childhood. Rinpoche is also married and has three children.
