Lama Jampa teaches in Bristol 15th January 2013 On Saturday 12th January Lama Jampa Thaye gave teachings in Bristol, UK which were hosted by Bristol Sakya Centre. In the morning he continued teaching the third part of Jetsun Drakpa Gyaltsen’s commentary on Chandragomin’s ‘Twenty Verses on the Bodhisattva Vow’ and in the afternoon he bestowed the initiation of Sanjay Menla from the lineage of Shantarakshita. Lama Jampa concluded the teachings by emphasising the importance of vows on the buddhist path. He explained that they make our practice strong and stable, helping us to maintain a slow and steady approach. He also reminded us that hearing the teachings is only the first stage: that we must go on to reflect upon and apply the teachings in our every day lives. If we practise in this way we can be confident that our efforts will bear fruit.
