An Introduction to Buddhist Meditation
In this brief clip, Lama Jampa explains the purpose of Buddhist meditation: realisation of the fundamental nature of mind itself. Our classes provide the first step on the path to understanding reality and gaining inner freedom.
We run introductory meditation classes at all of our Dechen centres and groups. You do not need to be a Buddhist or have had any previous experience of meditation to attend one of our classes. See a list of centres and groups.
Our introductory classes usually comprise two short sessions of a simple meditation technique for calming the mind. The method is fully explained by an experienced instructor and there is plenty of time to ask questions.
