In this retreat Lama Jampa Thaye will give the initiation of Vajrapani Bhutadamara. The practice of Bhutadamara is usually undertaken in order to overcome negativities that obstruct spiritual progress in the vajrayana. It is customary in the Sakya tradition to practise this before embarking on the supreme anuttara yoga tantra meditations. Along with the necessary initiation, Lama Jampa will teach the guide (tri) to the practice composed by the eminent master Zhuchen Tsultim Rinchen. There will then be a programme of meditation sessions for the rest of the week (see below).

10.30am Initiation of Vajrapani Bhutadamara *
2.00pm Explanation and instruction on the meditation practice (tri)

Mon 23rd
9.30am - 1.00pm Explanation continued (all day) / 2.00pm -4.00pm / 5.00pm - 7.00pm

Tue 24th - Fri 27th Daily sessions of meditation on Vajrapani Bhutadamara
9.30am - 11.30am / 2.00pm - 4.00pm / 5.00pm - 7.00pm

* This initiation is open to all those who have taken refuge.
Refuge will be given at the beginning of the initiation to those who wish to make this formal commitment to practising the Buddhist path.

Facility fee: £100.

These fees cover the expenses of running the course, with any surplus going towards the annual upkeep of Sakya Changlochen Ling.

Children at the Dharma School

The Dharma School: Children aged three and over can attend the Dharma School, which will run during the first two retreat sessions of each day. The charge will be £20 per child for the week; this will allow us to employ a paid member of staff. Parents may be asked to help run sessions. Please pay for your child / children when booking for the retreat. Accommodation: There are various kinds of accommodation available in the area to suit everybody, and it is up to you to make your own arrangements. Some suggestions are found below.

Brin D’Amour Campsite is adjacent to Sakya Changlochen Ling. Book soon to avoid disappointment. They have extensive facilities with many chalets and mobile homes available. Their swimming pool can now be heated and covered at times of inclement weather. They also have plenty of camping space bookable in advance, and payable on arrival. Sakya Changlochen Ling has limited camping space and is at the discretion of Sakya Thinley Rinchen Ling. If you would like to camp there please submit your request early to avoid disappointment. The camping fee at Sakya Changlochen Ling will be £50 per person per week. (Children £10 per child per week)

Travel: As well as travel by road and ferry (book soon to get lower prices), or rail to Le Bugue or Le Buisson, there are direct flights with Ryan Air (www.ryanair.com ) and Flybe (www.flybe.com) to Bergerac from London, Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and many other places. From Bergerac station the train takes about one hour to Le Bugue or Le Buisson, or you could share a taxi from the airport to Sakya Changlochen Ling. Otherwise a flight to Bordeaux followed by a 2 hour train journey would get you to Le Bugue. From there you can get a taxi the last 6 kilometres.
