The King of Aspirations

10.30am - 1.00pm
‘The King of Aspirations’ is one of the most important liturgies practised throughout Mahayana Buddhism. Derived from the Avatamsaka Sutra, it sets out the seven-branch preliminary practices and the essential aspirations of one's training on the path to full awakening.

Lama Jampa will teach the ‘Aspiration’ through the commentarial explanation set out by the 19th century master Drakpa Gyaltsen, a close disciple of Jamyang Chentse Wangpo.

The Initiation of One Thousand-armed Chenrezik

2:30 pm. - 4:30 pm.

Chenrezik is revered in all traditions of Buddhism as the supreme embodiment of compassion. This initiation is from the lineage of the great nun, Lakshmin Kara, and is associated with the one-day fasting ritual of Chenrezik.

This initiation  is open to all Buddhists.

Refuge will be given at the beginning of the initiation for all who wish to make a formal commitment to practising the Buddhist path.
